Last night, the 16th of August, we had the 7th moon prayers at Ole Sayang, to feed the Hungry Ghosts. Done annually, this the Chinese equivalent of "All Souls Day", however, it lasts for a whole month. Apparently the Chinese souls are hungrier then the others!!

Did you know that hungry ghosts are not unique to Chinese culture but also are mentioned in Japanese, Hindu and Tibetan cultures? The Romans also appeased their deceased ancestors with beans at the Festival of Lemuria.
